Music Producer Files $150M Lawsuit Over AI Detection

PUBLISHED Aug 23, 2026, 2:12 AM ET

Irish music producer Eamonn Dubois, professionally known as HeyMann Dubois, has filed a 150 million dollar federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Traxsource, Inc. and Thrust Publishing, doing business as DJ Mag. The complaint alleges false designation of origin and false advertising under the Lanham Act, defamation per se, and gross negligence. Court documents state that Traxsource allegedly applied false AI-assisted metadata tags to eleven original human-created music tracks produced by Dubois. On June 23, 2026, DJ Mag published an unverified promotional article praising an independent AI-detection initiative launched by Traxsource. Dubois claims he notified the publication regarding the alleged falsity of the detection system, but the publisher refused to issue a retraction or correction. Dubois seeks injunctive relief, declaratory relief, actual and treble damages, and a jury trial.
