Anthropic is preparing for a potential record-setting U.S. initial public offering, with bankers telling investors the artificial-intelligence company could seek more than $100 billion and a valuation near $2 trillion, according to reports. The New York Times reported that bankers discussed the $100 billion-plus fundraising figure, while Bloomberg reported Anthropic expects its offering to match or exceed SpaceX’s record IPO size. Anthropic could publicly file its confidential IPO paperwork as soon as the end of August, although timing and deal terms remain subject to change. The Claude developer’s annualized revenue run rate exceeded $65 billion by the end of July, up from $47 billion in May, Reuters reported. Anthropic was valued at $965 billion in its May funding round. Reports also say it lost nearly $42 billion in 2025, reflecting heavy AI development costs. The company has not publicly confirmed a $2 trillion valuation, final offering size, or IPO date.
