Gwyneth Paltrow has responded to online backlash over a reported private dinner for OpenAI CEO Sam Altman by posting parody invitations on Instagram . The controversy began after journalist Matthew Belloni reported in his Puck newsletter that Paltrow was hosting an "off-the-record al fresco dinner" for Altman at her Hamptons home on August 29 . Social media users criticized Paltrow as "tone-deaf" and "a villain," while comedian-activist Matt Bernstein described her AI ties as "technofascism" . On Thursday, Paltrow shared invitations featuring fictional characters including M3GAN, Samantha Jones, Shrek, Jessica Rabbit, and viral meme figure Chanty Beluga . "We're serving swordfish burritos, cheddar foam lattes on request," she captioned the post . Journalist Shayan Sardarizadeh noted the original invitation image was likely AI-generated . Representatives for Paltrow and OpenAI have not confirmed the dinner's authenticity . Paltrow previously engaged with viral moments, including a parody ad for Astronomer in December .
