Amazon Prime Video accidentally streamed Jason Statham’s action thriller Mutiny in its entirety on August 19, two days before its scheduled theatrical release . The full 95-minute film was available on the US platform for several hours before being removed . Distributor Lionsgate and international buyers are furious, as the leak has already led to piracy in multiple territories . One buyer called it an “unprecedented situation” and a “multimillion-dollar problem for Amazon” . With a production cost over $50 million, the film had opened strongly in France and the Middle East before the incident . Lionsgate’s anti-piracy team is attempting to contain the damage while overseas distributors coordinate a formal response to Amazon . Amazon, Lionsgate, and Statham’s representatives have declined to comment
