A joint practice between the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints in Oxnard, California, erupted into multiple fights Tuesday, disrupting preseason work. Cowboys linebacker Donovan Ezeiruaku was ejected after throwing a punch, while cornerback Caelen Carson was also involved in an altercation, according to reports. Saints rookie receiver Brock Rechsteiner, son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, became the most visible participant after taking Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson to the ground in a wrestling-style move. Reports differed on the number of confrontations, ranging from at least six to as many as 10. Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said he was disappointed because the fighting reduced productive football work and acknowledged both teams contributed. Saints coach Kellen Moore said coaches considered ending practice if confrontations continued. The teams meet again Friday in a preseason game Aug. 28 night. Rechsteiner is suspended for six regular-season games but remains eligible for preseason activities.
