CBS Anchor Matt Gutman Sued For Sexual Harassment

Former ABC News producer Samira Said filed a lawsuit Friday alleging CBS correspondent Matt Gutman made inappropriate, sexualized comments while they worked together, according to the complaint obtained by PEOPLE. Said, who worked at ABC from 2021 until her termination in March 2025, alleges two incidents involving Gutman: a discussion rating a female correspondent’s appearance and a separate remark suggesting Said wanted to leave an assignment because of an after-hours date. The allegations are part of a broader wrongful-termination and discrimination lawsuit naming ABC, ABC News, Disney and bureau chief David Herndon. Gutman has not publicly responded, and CBS and ABC had not immediately commented in reports. CBS announced Gutman as chief correspondent in December 2025; he began in January 2026 and serves as a fill-in anchor. His ABC controversies included a 2020 inaccurate Kobe Bryant report and a 2021 suspension over hospital-visit policy violations. The lawsuit currently remains unresolved.
