Free agent guard Bradley Beal has agreed to return to the Los Angeles Clippers on a two year contract worth thirteen million dollars, according to his agent Mark Bartelstein. ESPN first reported the agreement on Wednesday evening. The deal includes a player option for the second season. Beal previously declined a five million dollar player option for the upcoming campaign to test unrestricted free agency after receiving interest from multiple franchises, including the Miami Heat. The veteran guard joined the Clippers last offseason but played only six regular season games before suffering a left hip fracture that required season ending surgery. During those brief appearances, he averaged eight points per game. The new agreement provides Beal with increased financial security and a guaranteed return to the team backcourt rotation as the organization adjusts its roster strategy for the upcoming season. League officials anticipate formal contract execution following medical clearances today.
