USWNT Star Olivia Moultrie Out for Season with ACL Tear
United States women's national team midfielder Olivia Moultrie will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn right ACL during training last week. The Portland Thorns confirmed the injury on Tuesday, placing the 20-year-old on the season-ending injury list . Portland Thorns general manager Jeff Agoos confirmed the diagnosis and said the club would provide full support during her recovery . Moultrie has appeared in 16 matches for the Thorns this season, with 15 starts, recording five goals and five assists. The team currently sits fifth in the National Women's Soccer League standings after 19 games . She made her USWNT debut in 2023 and has earned 18 caps, scoring five international goals. Moultrie was part of the U.S. squad that won the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup and the 2024 and 2026 SheBelieves Cups. She was named U.S. Soccer's Young Female Player of the Year in 2023 . The injury will require surgery and an extended rehabilitation period. She is expected to miss the 2026 Concacaf W Championship, scheduled for November and December. Her availability for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil, which begins in June, is now uncertain .
