The Universal Pictures epic passed the billion-dollar threshold on Friday, becoming Nolan’s third film to achieve the feat following The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. The Dark Knight Rises, released in 2012, currently holds that distinction with approximately $1.08 billion worldwide. The milestone is particularly significant given the nature of the film.
