Oscar-winning actor and musician Jared Leto has denied sexual assault and harassment allegations made by four women in a new BBC documentary, calling the claims "absolutely and categorically false". The documentary, titled "Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret," features interviews with 10 women speaking about alleged experiences with Leto between 2002 and 2016, when the actor was in his 30s and 40s. Leto is now 54. According to the BBC, four women alleged that Leto sexually assaulted or threatened them when they were teenagers. A third woman, Alex, said Leto threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19. A fourth accuser, Etta, claimed Leto made sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was 16. Four additional women described receiving "strange and often very sexual phone calls" from Leto, according to the BBC. The broadcaster said it corroborated several of the women's accounts through friends and family members who were told about the alleged incidents at the time. The BBC also stated it had reviewed photographs and messages that supported some of the accounts. The documentary also included accounts from men who worked alongside Leto's band, who allegedly said staff members grew uncomfortable with what they described as an excessive age gap between Leto and some of the girls reportedly invited backstage or to the house where he recorded music. In a statement to The Associated Press and Page Six, Leto responded: "I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false". This is not the first time Leto has faced such accusations. In 2025, nine women accused him of sexual misconduct in an investigation by US d
