In West Sacramento on Monday night, Ceddanne Rafaela hit his first major league grand slam to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 4-2 win over the Oakland Athletics, their 18th victory in 20 games. Boston was no-hit for five innings by A’s rookie starter Jack Perkins before Connor Wong doubled to start the sixth. After two walks and a pitching change, Rafaela homered for his 11th of the season. Payton Tolle allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings for Boston, while Aroldis Chapman recorded his 25th save. Oakland has now dropped three straight and 24 of its last 30 games.
