Matt Damon has described the demanding six‑month physical transformation he undertook to play Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s new film “The Odyssey.” Speaking recently on “Live with Kelly and Mark,” the 55‑year‑old actor said Nolan wanted the legendary Greek hero to appear “lean and strong,” like a veteran of the Trojan War who could handle himself but would not miss a meal. Damon said achieving that specific look “took over” his life, involving an intense regimen that brought him down to his high‑school weight. The film, released worldwide on July 17, opened to about $264 million, Nolan’s biggest debut to date.
