Hip-hop artist Travis Scott has made his major motion picture acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s new epic film, “The Odyssey.” Speaking on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday, Scott described receiving an unexpected phone call from Nolan, whom he initially assumed wanted concert tickets. Instead, the director offered him the role of Demodocus, the bard who narrates Odysseus’s journey in the film’s opening sequence. Scott, who views Nolan as a mentor, accepted after the director outlined his vision. Nolan later told Time he cast Scott to evoke the story’s roots in oral poetry, drawing an analogy to rap.
