Milwaukee: Mets activate Luis Robert Jr. after injury

The New York Mets have activated outfielder Luis Robert Jr. from the injured list after nearly three months sidelined with a lumbar spine disk herniation. The move was announced on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, ahead of a three-game road series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Robert, 28, had been out since April 26, 2026, and was immediately placed in the starting lineup in center field, batting seventh, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in an 8-3 loss. To clear roster space, the Mets optioned infielder Eric Wagaman and outrighted infielder Zack Short to Triple-A Syracuse. Manager Andy Green plans to ease Robert back gradually.
