Arizona Cardinals executive suspended indefinitely for gambling violations

New York – On July 17, 2026, the National Football League announced the immediate and indefinite suspension of Arizona Cardinals Director of College Scouting Ryan Gold for multiple violations of the league’s gambling policy. The league said Gold is barred from participating in any team or league activities while suspended, marking the first major gambling-related discipline issued by the NFL since the summer of 2023 and renewing attention on the strict rules that govern betting by league personnel. A comprehensive NFL investigation found that Gold placed parlay wagers on both NFL and college football games, conduct that the policy expressly prohibits for all league and club employees, including executives, coaches, scouts and players.
