The United States conducted a second wave of military strikes against Iran on Wednesday, according to US Central Command, targeting coastal defence systems, missile launch sites and other military assets used to threaten vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. One strike hit an army barracks in Bampur County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, where Iranian officials reported seven soldiers killed and 13 wounded. Iran’s health ministry said US attacks in July have killed at least 35 people and injured more than 300 civilians and military personnel. The Strait of Hormuz remains closed as tensions escalate and both sides report regional military actions.
