An early-morning 4.1 earthquake struck near Frazier Park at 3:38 a.m., about 65.3 miles southeast of Los Angeles, the USGS said. Initially listed as magnitude 4.4, it was downgraded after review. The epicenter was roughly 1 mile east-southeast of Frazier Park at a depth of 8 miles. USGS received 785 felt reports, with light shaking noted in Los Angeles, Fullerton, Porterville and Paramount. At least three aftershocks followed on Jul. 12, the largest a 2.9. USGS issued a Green Alert for low casualty and damage risk; most local structures are resilient, though some masonry buildings are vulnerable.
