The U.S. State Department has unveiled a comprehensive campaign to dismantle the International Criminal Court (ICC), arguing the Hague-based tribunal threatens American sovereignty and could target U.S. military and officials. Secretary of State Marco Rubio detailed the strategy in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece and a subsequent video address posted Monday. He accused the ICC of effectively waging a campaign against the United States through international law. The initiative will coordinate multiple federal agencies and may include travel bans, visa revocations, and financial sanctions on ICC personnel, alongside diplomatic efforts urging allied governments to exit the Rome Statute framework.
