FAYETTEVILLE — Patricia Groce, an 88-year-old Army veteran, won four gold medals and three silver medals at the Department of Veterans Affairs’ 2026 National Veterans Golden Age Games in Tampa, Fla., held June 28–July 2. Groce competed in the 400-meter run, 50-meter dash, bowling, table tennis, horseshoes, shot put and javelin during her 12th appearance at the event. Her performance contributed to the RazorVets’ presence—32 veteran athletes from the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks—and joins a career total exceeding 60 medals. The Games drew more than 1,300 veterans aged 55 and older across 21 sports, and local representatives noted pride in regional representation while Groce credited daily activity with supporting her longevity.
