Valley City man arrested after allegedly pointing gun at car

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — A Valley City man allegedly pointed a firearm at another vehicle on Wednesday, July 8, prompting police to locate his vehicle and conduct a traffic stop at the Petro Serve USA parking lot at approximately 4:08 p.m.; officers took 64-year-old Gregory Heckman into custody without incident. Authorities charged Heckman with driving under the influence and terrorizing this week after officers recovered a firearm during the stop; the Valley City Police Department was assisted by the Barnes County Sheriff's Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The case remains under investigation and officials asked anyone with additional information to contact the Valley City Police Department.
