United States secures $30 billion Apple-Broadcom chip pact

Apple has announced a multiyear agreement with Broadcom worth more than $30 billion to design and manufacture custom silicon and advanced wireless components in the United States through 2031. The deal, disclosed this week, is part of Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, which aims to strengthen domestic high‑tech production and reduce reliance on overseas chip fabrication. Broadcom will supply radio frequency parts, including FBAR filters, for devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. To meet the projected output of over 15 billion U.S.-made chips, Broadcom plans $1.5 billion in capital investment to expand its Fort Collins, Colorado facility, supporting hundreds of skilled jobs.
