House Republican leaders are considering using the Senate’s budget reconciliation process to advance former President Donald Trump’s signature voting proposal, the Save America Act, without needing 60 votes to overcome a filibuster. After a White House meeting with Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson said Republicans are exploring whether key provisions of the bill could qualify under reconciliation rules, allowing passage by simple majority in the Senate.
