Tap title to read story
Celebrity fitness trainer Mario Godiva has filed a lawsuit in San Francisco Superior Court against luxury gym operator Equinox, alleging race and disability discrimination and wrongful termination. Godiva, a nationally recognized instructor who worked at Equinox for nearly 16 years, claims he was consistently paid less than white colleagues despite being certified across all four of the company’s studio categories. The complaint alleges his public profile and high-profile clients were used to promote the brand while he faced a hostile work environment. His attorneys say Equinox fired him in retaliation after he reported internal bias, raising broader questions about labor practices in the high-end fitness industry.
