Jason Derulo has responded to mounting criticism over a shark tank installed in the floor of his Tarzana, California living room. The controversy intensified after a property tour with streamer N3on went viral, showing sharks kept inside the residential feature. Animal welfare advocates, including the International Fund for Animal Welfare and its wildlife cybercrime program manager Christian Plowman, argue that housing sharks in a private home is inappropriate and risks harming their well-being. Speaking in Los Angeles on June 19, 2026, Derulo said he is listening to public concerns, defended the sharks’ current space, and is evaluating possible alternative arrangements.
