Iran warns Israel after reported Lebanon airstrikes

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya central military command on Wednesday warned Israel to halt attacks in southern Lebanon or face a “harsh response,” after fresh Israeli strikes were reported near Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Ansariyeh. Lebanese state media said warplanes and a drone were involved, while the Israel Defense Forces did not immediately comment. Iran accused Israel of violating a Lebanon ceasefire 84 times since a tentative U.S.-Iran agreement to end the wider regional war was announced. The U.S.-Iran deal, expected to be signed Friday at Switzerland’s Burgenstock resort, hinges on Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, according to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
