United States college quarterback Brendan Sorsby has withdrawn from NCAA football and will enter the NFL supplemental draft, according to a June 15, 2026 open letter from Texas Tech Board of Regents chairman Cody Campbell. The move ends an unprecedented legal battle over Sorsby’s collegiate eligibility following an NCAA investigation into his gambling activities. Investigators found Sorsby had placed thousands of sports bets totaling at least $90,000, including at least 40 wagers on games involving his former team, the Indiana Hoosiers, during his freshman season. The NCAA imposed a permanent collegiate ban, and Sorsby’s attorneys now plan to withdraw their lawsuit against the association.
