United States — Municipal leaders in several cities this week acted on temporary moratoriums or zoning pauses for data center projects. Edgerton's council denied a moratorium even as a Planning Commission rejected an $860 million DAMAC proposal on June 9; Lansing advanced a temporary pause Monday while Raleigh and St. Johns scheduled reviews this week. Local officials cited water, power and land-use concerns and scheduled technical reviews, hearings and a public referendum. Wrightstown imposed a pause ahead of an Aug. 11 ballot question, St. Johns agreed Tuesday to discuss a one-year moratorium, and Lansing councilmember Deyanira Nevarez Martinez is drafting conditional-use rules as next steps.
