United States expands China military-linked company blacklist

The United States Department of Defense has expanded its list of Chinese companies identified as supporting the People’s Republic of China’s military and industrial complex, adding several major technology and manufacturing firms. In an update released on June 10, 2026, the Pentagon named Alibaba, Baidu, and electric vehicle maker NIO, along with memory chip producers CXMT and YMTC, to the so‑called 1260H or Chinese military companies (CMC) list. Inclusion exposes the firms to heightened U.S. regulatory scrutiny and potential restrictions on American investment and technology exports. China’s Foreign Ministry condemned the move as discriminatory, while YMTC said it was disappointed and rejected security-related justifications.
