Tap title to read story
Augusta, Maine — Graham Platner, the likely Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate, sent sexually explicit text messages to at least six women after his 2023 marriage, disclosures reported this week by national outlets including the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. Campaign materials indicate the messages were found on his phone and were shared with his campaign last year to prepare for potential attacks.
This week Maine Democratic Party officials are facing mounting pressure and plan a meeting to consider responses; CNN also reported a Kik profile linked to Platner. His wife, Amy Gertner, posted a video this week saying their marriage is 'great' though imperfect and that they have attended counseling; both Platner and Republican Ken Paxton visited Washington on Tuesday to shore up party support amid controversy.
