OKLAHOMA CITY — Alabama defeated Nebraska 5-1 at Devon Park on Saturday night, May 30, in a Women's College World Series winners-bracket game. Marlie Giles hit a three-run home run in the first inning that provided the early margin, and Nebraska's lone run came on a Hannah Camenzind solo homer; Jordy Frahm started for Nebraska. The loss ended Nebraska's 27-game winning streak and sent the Huskers to an elimination game against No. 2 seed Texas on Sunday, May 31. Alabama remained in the winners bracket and is scheduled to face the winner of UCLA vs. Texas Tech in the semifinal at 6 p.m. CT Monday, June 1, as listed on WCWS schedules.
