Bosnia firm with Trump links nears Balkans gas deal

AAFS Infrastructure and Energy, a little-known company registered in Sarajevo, is close to securing contracts worth more than $1 billion to build and operate a fossil-gas pipeline across the Balkans. The pipeline would carry U.S.-shipped gas aimed at reducing regional dependence on Russian energy. AAFS has attracted scrutiny because its representatives include a Washington lawyer who has worked for the Trump family and the brother of a former U.S. national security adviser, both involved in efforts to challenge the 2020 U.S. election results. Bosnian officials call the project strategically important, and a formal investigation into the deal and its policy implications is under way.
