The pause seeks to give lawmakers time to review reported capital investment figures — data centers that previously received sales and use tax benefits reported $27.2 billion in 2025 — and to assess community concerns raised in Clinton, Butler, and Adams counties. The committee will hold hearings, evaluate local benefits and economic impacts, and may issue policy recommendations after completing its review.
