Las Vegas injury clouds MacKinnon status for Avalanche

Colorado Avalanche star center Nathan MacKinnon is questionable for Tuesday night’s Game 4 of the Western Conference Final against the Vegas Golden Knights after sustaining a right knee injury in Game 3. The injury occurred Sunday at 12:15 of the second period when MacKinnon blocked a shot from defenseman Shea Theodore and was struck on the knee. He briefly returned but was clearly limited, logging just over four minutes in the third period. MacKinnon leads Colorado with seven goals and 15 points in the 2026 playoffs. Forward Valeri Nichushkin is also questionable, and coach Jared Bednar said final decisions may come at game time.
