Oklahoma City Spurs Rule Out De'Aaron Fox

In Oklahoma City on Monday night, the San Antonio Spurs ruled guard De'Aaron Fox out of Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to right ankle soreness less than an hour before tipoff. Fox had taken part in the morning shootaround and again tested the ankle about 90 minutes before the game as team officials and coaches observed. Head coach Mitch Johnson indicated the injury was unlikely to resolve quickly during the postseason. Fox had averaged 18.8 points and 5.8 assists in 33.3 minutes. Oklahoma City, meanwhile, cleared Jalen Williams to return from a hamstring strain.
