A U.S. magistrate judge has ordered former President Donald Trump to answer questions under oath in his defamation lawsuit against the BBC by 11 December. Trump is suing the broadcaster over a Panorama episode that edited together two different sections of a speech he gave before the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. Trump cancelled a deposition on 16 October, citing national campaign duties. The BBC apologized for the error and argued the program did not meet defamation criteria. John Anderson, the Grammy‑nominated country singer known for “Swingin’” and “Seminole Wind,” died this week at age 71. No cause of death was disclosed.
