Area teams claim regional titles and state qualifications

HIGH POINT — Saturday's regional track meets produced multiple state qualifiers and team placings across the Salisbury area, with South Rowan athletes placing among top finishers at the 4A Central Regional at the High Point Athletic Complex and Salisbury scoring strong finishes to earn individual regional titles and relay qualifications. DENTON and WEAVERVILLE results this week show North Rowan won the 2A Central Regional with three individual champions, while West Rowan traveled Friday to defeat North Buncombe 1-0 in the 5A state softball second round; teams now prepare for upcoming state championships and the next playoff match scheduled for Tuesday.
