Oklahoma candidate found dead after disappearance this week

Erick, Oklahoma. A candidate for the Oklahoma State Senate, Barry Christian, disappeared Tuesday and was found dead inside his pickup Thursday in the Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area near Highway 30, campaign and law enforcement releases confirmed. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation located a truck matching Christian’s vehicle and reported investigators on scene Thursday afternoon. Officials this week said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner positively identified the body and will determine cause and manner of death, while the OSBI continues an active investigation. Christian’s family was notified, local law enforcement assisted in the search, and authorities have requested that anyone with information contact the OSBI tip line.
