New Orleans — LIV Golf and Louisiana officials announced this week that the June 25–28 tournament at Bayou Oaks at City Park has been postponed and is being explored for rescheduling in September or October. A source told Fox 8 on Monday the June event would not proceed, and AP reporting said state and LIV officials were coordinating new timing to avoid heat and scheduling conflicts. State officials including Governor Jeff Landry and Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Bourgeois said the state paid $3.2 million, with $2 million allocated for park improvements and $1.2 million expected to be repaid by LIV Golf; Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser also questioned a reported $7 million allocation. LIV CEO Scott O'Neil had earlier assured staff the season would continue, and parties continue discussions about fall options.
