An explosion struck a command post of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) at the Kalso military base, about 50 kilometers south of Baghdad, overnight between Friday and Saturday, according to Iraqi military and security sources. One PMF member was reported killed and between six and eight others wounded, with officials confirming material damage at the site. The PMF said the blast resulted from an attack and that an investigative team was deployed. While Iraqi military authorities reported no drones or fighter jets detected in Babylon airspace, regional media, including Saudi-owned Al-Hadath, attributed the incident to airstrikes on Iranian‑backed militia targets.
