WASHINGTON — U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine said at a Pentagon briefing on April 16 that U.S. forces in the Middle East are prepared to restart combat operations and have mounted a maritime blockade on ships entering or leaving Iran to pressure Tehran to accept a peace deal.
