Washington — Senator Lindsey Graham announced Friday he will introduce a reconciliation package before June 1 to fund the Department of Homeland Security, including Border Patrol and ICE, through the end of President Donald Trump's second term, and to deliver multi-year appropriations; he told Fox News the measure would allow passage without Democratic votes. Washington — Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Tuesday the full Senate could begin work as early as next week, before a scheduled May 1 recess, while two House resignations this week and expiring authorities — including a surveillance authorization on April 20 and War Powers Act deadlines at month’s end — increase urgency to pass funding and other must-pass bills.
