OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss defeated LSU 6-3 at Swayze Field on Friday, breaking a 3-3 tie with a three-run bottom-of-the-eighth inning. The Rebels scored on a run-scoring single, a successful bunt that produced a run, and a sacrifice fly, and reliever Walker Hooks finished the game by retiring the side in the ninth. The loss moved LSU to 22-13 overall and 6-7 in SEC play while Ole Miss improved to 24-11 and 6-7; the teams will resume the series at 4 p.m. CT Saturday with probable starters William Schmidt for LSU and Cade Townsend for Ole Miss.
