SEATTLE — Cleveland Guardians rookie outfielder Chase DeLauter hit a home run in his first regular-season at-bat on Thursday during Opening Day at T-Mobile Park, turning on a full-count slider from Seattle starter Logan Gilbert and driving a 358-foot shot to right field. The Guardians won 6-4 as DeLauter also added a ninth-inning homer that provided cushion; he is among franchise players to homer in a first at-bat and said Wednesday making the roster felt "awesome," while manager Stephen Vogt credited postseason experience for easing his transition.
