Atlanta — Fulton County officials asked a federal judge Friday to order the FBI to return ballots and other materials seized on Jan. 28 from a warehouse near Atlanta that contained more than 600 boxes of 2020 election records, saying the seizure violated constitutional protections. The hearing, scheduled after court-ordered mediation failed, involved U.S. District Judge J.P. Boulee and designated overseer Harold Melton; county attorneys argued the raid was unjustified while DOJ lawyers said digital copies were provided and that physical material must be retained for an ongoing investigation.
