UPDATED FORECAST-Rochester Area Braces For Ice and Heavy Snow
Forecast models have nudged a major winter storm slightly north, putting the heaviest snow over the Twin Cities and into Wisconsin. Rochester still faces an icy mix overnight and heavy snow Sunday, with a winter storm warning from 7 PM today to 1 PM Monday. NWS projects 5 to 9 inches in Rochester, over a foot just north in Wabasha and Goodhue, and a band from near Willmar through the Twin Cities that could approach 20 inches. Blizzard warnings Sunday cover parts of southern Minnesota, and travel may be dangerous to impossible.
