Chicago — The Democratic National Committee placed five U.S. cities on a shortlist this week to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, with Chicago identified as a front-runner to host in both 2028 and 2032. The DNC will deploy its Technical Advisory Group to conduct spring site visits to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver and Philadelphia and assess logistics, partnerships and alignment with party values. Bid teams submitted proposals in January and met with DNC officials in February. The 2028 convention is scheduled for August 7–10, 2028.
