HUNTSVILLE, Texas — Texas executed Charles Victor Thompson Wednesday evening, pronouncing him dead at 6:50 p.m. CST following a lethal injection at the Huntsville penitentiary. Thompson, 55, was convicted in 1999 for the April 30, 1998, shootings that left ex-girlfriend Glenda Dennise Hayslip and her boyfriend Darren Cain dead; Hayslip died a week after the attack.
