Spartanburg County, South Carolina — State health officials reported that the Upstate measles outbreak has grown, with the South Carolina Department of Public Health confirming 558 cases as of Jan. 16. Officials identified 124 new cases since Jan. 13, placed 531 people in quarantine and 85 in isolation, and reported exposures at schools and businesses. Cases have spread into neighboring states: North Carolina confirmed eight cases since December 2025, Kentucky reported its first 2026 case in Jessamine County, and Washington identified three linked cases in Snohomish County.
