State officials and political supporters who argue for enhanced state-level security measures may gain political and administrative leverage from the executive order directing agencies to deny contracts and benefits to designated organizations.
Muslim Americans, CAIR staff, affiliated organizations, and recipients of services and legal protections may face reputational harm, loss of state contracts, restricted access to state benefits, and legal disputes arising from the designation.
