FAYETTEVILLE, The University of Arkansas hired Ryan Silverfield as its 35th head football coach Sunday, the school announced. He replaces Sam Pittman, who was fired in September after a 2-3 start, and interim Bobby Petrino, who lost seven games. Silverfield, promoted at Memphis in December 2019, compiled a 50-25 record, led Memphis to consecutive double-digit win seasons and four bowl victories, and finished 8-4 in 2025.
